The Community We Serve

EVERY LIFE DESERVES ASSISTANCE

  • EVERY LIFE matters.
  • ELDA has been serving vulnerable and at-risk communities within Contra Costa County since 2015.
  • ELDA implements a client-centered approach that focuses on understanding, listening, and recognizing each member’s needs.
  • We build trust and confidence toward a path of healing and empowerment.

DESERVES

Everyone deserves a chance to lead a decent and fruitful life. But many have fallen on hard times due to lack of employment, poverty, domestic violence, substance and alcohol abuse, justice-involvement, and mental and physical disabilities. ELDA provides safe and secure transitional housing as a temporary residence of up to 24 months with wrap-around services to help our community members stabilize their lives.

ASSISTANCE

On-site supportive services include transitional housing, basic life skills training, resume building. evidence-based reentry services, substance use counseling, hygiene packs, blankets, and transportation.

Our services include

Case Management

  • ELDA’s Case Management services comprises a team of trained “change agents” who affect change by breaking down barriers with skilled communication, and implementing evidence-based practices when interviewing, and assessing each member’s needs.
  • This client-centered approach engenders a willingness of change in an individual’s attitude and behavior leading him or her on a path of self-sufficiency, and restoring value to her or his life. We work with a network of partners that celebrate diversity and well-being in helping at-risk individuals in our community.

Employment workshops

Employment provides income — it offers a structured routine giving clients a sense of purpose and accomplishment.

Employment fosters good standing in the community and provides people with self-sufficiency. Yet, in a vulnerable population experiencing unemployment can often lead to homelessness, depression, and social isolation

ELDA provides employment workshops to help:

• Identify clients’ strengths and weaknesses

• Develop vocational job skills and training

• Match employment guidance resources

• Support clients in resumé building

• Assist clients in developing good interviewing skills

Community Table

It is our goal to provide nutritional meals seven days a week, 365 days a year. All meals are prepared with love and gratitude by our team of community volunteers! We are always in need of food contributions and donations — it takes a village to nurture a village!
